Our sponsor in March is Torrance Produce Market & Deli (1303 El Prado, Old Torrance). Tommy Murakoshi and family took over the former Torrance Neighborhood Market in May 2007, and opened as Torrance Produce Market & Deli, noting, "It is our vision to provide the best available produce to the residents of this 'Mayberry' community at fair and reasonable prices.
The hot deli serves authentic Mexican cuisine Monday - Friday, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The "Grab 'N Go" section includes -- croissant sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit cups, freshly made guacamole and pico de gallo, cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake by the slice, Chinese items such as char siu (BBQ pork), steamed or baked char siu bow (buns), siu mai (steamed pork dumplings), as well as sushi from Sushi Boy.
The grocery department is constantly being upgraded to reflect the needs of the community. We have added an Asian and Hawaiian department, have maintained the Hispanic department and are gradually adding both healthier, as well as, gourmet products along with some organic offerings. We also now have a limited selection of fresh beef, chicken and pork."
