May, 2005 Meeting - Henry Andrade, Grand View Geranium Gardens, Inc.

On Wednesday, May 18th, our presenter was Mr. Henry Andrade of Grand View Geranium Gardens, Inc.

The month of May is when the OTNA has its spring gardening program. At this meeting, we put the "City stuff" aside and talked geraniums -- the ever-present, hardy Southern California geranium!

We learned all about the different varieties of geraniums and how to care for them from local expert Henry Andrade of Grand View Gardens, Inc., one of the largest geranium suppliers on the West Coast. This company grows about 500 different geranium varieties, from Martha Washington's to scented Dr. Livingston's -- they smell like lemon pepper, peppermint or apples. We were lucky to get Henry as our guest speaker, as he's in hot demand by horticultural societies and botanical gardens alike!

It was an excellent presentation, capped off with geranium samplers for everyone in attendance. The OTNA thanks Henry, and Grand View Geranium Gardens, Inc. for such an interesting program and for their generosity!

Easter in El Prado Park, Easter Sunday, March 27th, 2005

Mr. & Mrs. Bunny arrived at El Prado Park (corner of El Prado & Arlington Ave.) on Easter Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for the 24th Annual Easter candy hunt and Bunny Hop Bop. The kids, grandkids and adults all had a great time! Seeing the children having so much fun is a great way to start your day. We'll see you next year for our Silver Anniversary Easter in El Prado Park!

The OTNA thanks our corporate sponsor for the 24th Annual Easter in El Prado Park,
Del Amo Fashion Center Mall.

One of the goals of the OTNA is to foster an atmosphere of community spirit and neighborliness, and we strive to preserve a positive atmosphere in the center of Torrance through activities such as Easter in El Prado Park.
